The men who served in the 24th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron came from all walks of life, ranging from professional military backgrounds, through professional white collar or manual jobs to government-funded work schemes, as the US continued to recover from the Great Depression. Here we profile as many as possible, to preserve their stories and celebrate their contribution to Europe’s liberation.
